Delve into the life of famed composer and solo violinist Niccolò Paganini. Celebrated as one of the greatest violinists of all time, Paganini has left his mark on classical music by solidifying the modern violin technique. Although his life was riddled with loneliness, hardships and chronic illnesses, Paganini still rose to fame as the most successful classical soloist that the world of music has ever known.
Follow the life and music of Paganini as Paganini’s Daemon: A Most Enduring Legend sets out to understand the virtuoso – separating the whirlwind talent from the lonesome charlatan.
Knowing fully well the extent of his musical genius, Paganini used the legends to make himself not only the most famous performer of his time, but also the wealthiest by a long, long way.
Over time this overreach provoked envy and resentment and, finally, a pitiable isolation. And yet, Paganini would continue his musical tour de force powering through his medical declines and sorrowful loneliness.
On his final day in Nice on the 27th May 1840, Paganini would die in the company of his only son Achilles – his last and only faithful companion.
