Why do we talk and how do we do it? Talking is something that is unique to humans, yet it still remains a mystery.
To understand the science behind the wonder of language, this documentary film meets the scientists who are beginning to unlock the secrets of speech.
This includes a father who is filming every second of his son’s first three years in order to discover how we learn to talk.
The film also meets an autistic savant who can speak more than 20 languages while trying to deduce how his mind works and why it’s so easy for him to learn new languages.
Finally, we’ll also meet the first scientist who has identified a gene that makes speech possible.
