This is the Zodiac Speaking delves into the mystery surrounding the serial killer known as the “Zodiac”.

Covering the aspects of the Zodiac investigation, the film includes interviewers with the original investigators and some of the surviving victims.

Operating in Northern California from at least the late 1960s to the early 1970s, the Zodiac killer would shoot his victims without remorse – leaving them to die alone in the secluded nature paths near San Francisco.

Although the Zodiac claimed to have committed 37 murders through his encrypted letters to the media – only 7 murders have been confirmed.

Besides killing people, the Zodiac killer made it his great interest to taunt the investigators and people of California for not finding him.

Sending ominous letters and cards which included cryptograms to the local Bay Area press, the fear of being the Zodiac Killer’s next victim tsunamied across the United States at the time.

Now a national murder mystery, the pressure was on to find the serial killer.

Scouring the leads and evidence, investigators would trail the Zodiac killer for many years. In the end however, he still eluded them – creating a phantom serial killer never apprehended nor arrested.
