In the stillness of a mountain province in the Philippines, communities in Ifugao thrive in relative seclusion.
They are separated by mountain walls from the rest of the populace. Successfully preserving their culture for more than a couple of millennia, they remain steadfast to their ancestors’ ways.
This documentary takes a look at how these communities successfully preserved their Filipino cultural heritages, whereas the rest of Philippines has seemingly been assimilated by a more global western culture.

I visited Sagada in Philippines last year and got to see this up close and personal. It’s stunning and definitely a place to visit if you haven’t already! Really interesting to see what culture these mountain folk have adopted compared to the rest of the Philippines. It makes sense they developed their own culture since the Spaniards were never really able to conquer the mountain regions.
