Looking through Vasari’s eyes, we’ll retrace his footsteps and show in details the vivid Italian Renaissance art and the fascinating study of the artists who made them.
The first episode shows the journey through Renaissance Italy, where Andrew Graham-Dixon first comes into contact with Giorgio Vasari, the author of one of the most important history books on art from the Renaissance.
To further illustrate what Vasari described in his book, the episode takes a look at the masterpieces of the early Renaissance by Giotto, Masaccio and Donatello.
Episode two concludes the exploration of the extraordinary achievement of the chronicler of the Italian Renaissance, Giorgio Vasari, author of the monumental Lives of the Artists.
