In this first historical and political documentary we’ll explore Nepal’s monarchy.

Its roots stretches on from the Thapa dynasty in start 19th century until a bloody massacre in 2008 which saw the rise of an overtaking Republican political system.

The last Nepalese king to fall was of the house of Shah. This is his and and the house of Shah’s story. A story full of bloodshed, betrayal and intrigue.

The transformation from kingdom to republic was swift, dramatic, and left huge questions unanswered about the future.
