Wild Weather with Richard Hammond

This documentary series joins host Richard Hammond as he scours our planet to find, explore and learn from some of the wildest weather we know of.

Episode 1: Wind – The Invisible Force

Episode 1: Wind - The Invisible Force

In this first episode, we’ll join Richard Hammond as he investigates how wind actually starts.

He visits one of the windiest places on the planet, walks into the centre of a man-made tornado and creates a 10-metre high whirlwind – made of fire!

Episode 2: Water – The Shape Shifter

Episode 2: Water - The Shape Shifter

Episode two investigates the crucial role water plays.

Without water, there would be almost no weather: no rain, no snow, no hail, no clouds. So Richard goes in pursuit of water in all its forms.

He tries to weigh a cloud, finds out how rain could crush a car, and gets involved in starting an avalanche.

Episode 3: Temperature – The Driving Force

Episode 3: Temperature - The Driving Force

In the third episode, Richard Hammond investigates how temperature – or lack of it – drives all our weather.

He starts a dust storm in Australia, lights a giant hotplate in a quarry in the UK and creates an ice storm in Canada. Oh, and he drops in on a lab where they create lightning bolts!
