									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Ancient hieroglyphic slab swallowed up by the Mediterranean around 800AD off the coast of Egypt. Currently the slab is residing in Minneapolis Institute of Art along with other ancient Egyptian objects from the same timeframe.</p>

<p>The slab is the Stele of Thonis-Heracleion and on it is written the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decree_of_Nectanebo_I" title="Decree of Nectanebo I" rel="nofollow ugc">Decree of Nectanebo I</a></p>
<p>The steles were erected shortly after Nectanebo came to power, ca 380 BC.</p>
<p>The stele&#8217;s purpose was to use a 10 percent portion of the waterway-use tax (unspecified import tax) for the services of the priests in charge of the temples of the goddess Neith.</p>
<p>A finely engraved lunette adorns the upper third of the steles; the engravings and hieroglyphs are all incised in moderate sunken bas relief. The dinosaur’s undersea burial preserved its armor in exquisite detail. Its skull still bears tile-like plates and a gray patina of fossilized skins.</p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><b>Plant revival.</b> Revival of respiration and photosynthesis in dried leaves of Polypodium polypodioides. The plant can stay dead for over 100 years and still be revived and come alive from the introduction of water.</p>

<p>The leaves of the epiphytic fern Polypodium polypodioides, which lives on the branches of trees, are very similar to those of most higher plants except for the presence of scales on the dorsal side of the leaves. </p>
<p>The structure of the cells of the chloroplasts and the mitochondria is the same as that of other higher plants. </p>
<p>The only obvious difference found was that the contents of the central vacuole solidified when dehydrated.
