Hosted by biologist Liz Bonnin, this documentary series explores the unique and extraordinary friendships that form between animals and humans.
Join in, as we travel the globe with Bonnin in search of the people and animals with these astonishing, and perhaps unusual, connections.
Episode 1: Animals And Their Humans
Episode 1 takes us on journey across the world to meet those who have kindled and grown a friendship with their unusual pets. This first episode focus on humans with unusual bonds to what we’d judge as otherwise wild animals.
One man lets his buffalo walk around as it pleases, including inside his house. A couple practically lives side by side with their polar bear throughout the day. A third couple has a hippo as a lifelong friend who’s always welcome to enter their house. In this episode we’ll also meet a woman who’s best friends are a pack of lions.
Investigate the mindset behind these animal lovers and discover why an otherwise wild animal allows them so close, and even enjoys their company.
Episode 2: Animals and Their Animals
Like the first episode, we’ll once again delve into unusual animal relationships. This time we’ll take a look at animals befriending other animals, forging a strong bond of friendship as they grow up together.
We meet these uncharacteristic friendships as we journey across the world with Liz Bonnin, and take a look at a dog and lion who’s grown quite fond of each other. A chimpanzee and a baby lion who can’t go a day without each other. A bear and a tiger who’s calm behaviour brings out the best. Furthermore, we’ll meet a dog who’s best friend is a deer – along with a sheep who plays everyday with a rhino.
