The lockdown: One month in Wuhan takes a look at the on-going Chinese effort to contain the new coronavirus COVID-19 in Wuhan, China.
But containing the virus has not been easy, So far, it has created a global pandemic and an unrivalled economic disaster.
As of the 23d of January, 2020, Wuhan went into lockdown with 11 million inhabitants – forced to stay inside for their own safety and everyone else.
Although it hasn’t fully stopped the spread of COVID-19, Wuhan has now become an eerie sick zone where almost no one goes outside.
To ensure panic and the virus doesn’t spread, the Chinese government has since then barred all journalist endeavours to enter the city and few, save the ones there, know how bad things really are.
To understand the Wuhan situation and those who are trapped inside, we’ll enter the coronavirus territory and visit those who battle tirelessly against the COVID-19 virus to keep the epidemic at bay.
It is a huge undertaking which helps safeguard humanity and those quarantined in Wuhan.
