Teotihuacan’s Lost Kings

Follow a team of international scientists documenting an archeological sensation: the exploration of royal tombs beneath the ancient Mexican city of Teotihuacán.

Despite many decades of research, not much is known about this long-lost society. Who built these towering Meso-American pyramids?

Teotihuacan appears to contain features of various cultures, including the Maya, Mixtec and Zapotec. Whatever the case, Teotihuacan was founded as early as 400 B.C., though the largest structures of the city weren’t completed until about 300 A.D.

When archeologists discover evidence of a sacrificial chamber beneath the famous Pyramid of the Feathered Serpent, they find the clues that may finally tell us who the mysterious builders were.

The documentary producers acknowledge and apologize that the film incorrectly states the city of Tikal is in Mexico when it is in Guatemala.
