Ancient History

Ancient humanity sees civilizations rise and fall, with powerful ancient civilizations such as ancient Egypt, the Sumerians and many more. Ancient history continues until Roman emperor Romulus Augustus death in 476 AD.

Classical Antiquity

Classical Antiquity takes a look at civilizations between 800 BC and 476 AD. Civilizations such as the ancient Greek and ancient Rome make their mark on history here.

Middle Ages

The middle Ages, or the dark ages, begins with the fall of the Western Roman Empire followed by the Renaissance and the Age of Discovery.


The Renaissance grew in fragments. Abridged from the middle ages, the Renaissance saw a boost on all intellectual fronts. Its roots are marked in history as beginning in Florence, Italy, in the 14th century.

Age of Discovery

The Age of Discovery, or the Age of Exploration, marked the era of globalization. This global exploration led to the rise of global trade and the European colonial empires.

Industrial Revolution

The Industrial Revolution was the transition to new manufacturing processes in the period from about 1760 to sometime between 1820 and 1840.

Machine Age

The Machine Age is considered to be at a peak in the time between the first and second world wars, it forms a late part of the Second Industrial Revolution.

Atomic Age

The Atomic Age led the charge to a prosperous, yet also more dangerous modern world. This period of history follows the detonation of the first nuclear bomb, Trinity, on July 16, 1945, near the end of World War II.

Digital Revolution

The Digital Revolution, also known as the Third Industrial Revolution, is the shift from mechanical and analogue electronic technology to digital electronics which began anywhere from the late 1950s to the late 1970s with the adoption of digital computers and digital records.

Space Age

The Space Age is a time period encompassing the activities related to the Space Race, space exploration, space technology, and the cultural developments influenced by these events. The Space Age is generally considered to have begun with Sputnik in 1957.

Information Age

The Information Age, or the Computer Age, Digital Age, or New Media Age, is a historic period in the 21st century characterized by the rapid shift from traditional industry that the Industrial Revolution brought through industrialization, to an economy based on information technology. The onset of the Information Age is associated with the Digital Revolution, just as the Industrial Revolution marked the onset of the Industrial Age.
