Eye of the Pangolin is the story of two men on a mission to share the wonder of all four species of African pangolin.
They journey takes them across remote locations of the African continent, from arid savannahs to exotic jungles.
Through this wildlife expedition we’ll get a chance to catch a glimpse of the endangered pangolins in their natural habitats.
These extraordinary creatures are unlike any other mammal, with large, protective keratin scales covering their skin.
With the rise of Chinese medicin they have become a rarity in nature as poachers and wildlife traders harvest the pangolins for profit.
In Chinese medicin, they have gained the popularity of being effective against a variety of ailments – including excessive anxiety and hysterical crying in children, women thought to be possessed by devils and ogres, malarial fever, and deafness. A scientific unproven notion.
To help save the animals from extinction, Eye of the Pangolin hopes to showcase just how the pangolins live and survive during their daily routines.
It also hopes to show how caring for and studying pangolins can help save the creatures from being poached and traded into extinction.
