A Company of Heroes follows the story of American army veterans who fought for freedom and against the Nazis in Europe during World War 2.
These soldiers were conscripted into the “Easy Company” paratroopers in the 506 parachute infantry regiment of the 101 airborne. The documentary describes these U.S. soldiers as the “other” Band of Brothers.
Band of Brothers is a popular tv-series created by HBO which follows a small group of U.S. soldiers during World War 2.
The HBO series is based on prolific American historian Stephen E Ambrose’s book who compiled the story from extensive interviews with veterans of the “Easy Company”, the Airborne’s 506th Regiment. Some of these veterans are in this film.
To gather the stories and history behind A Company of Heroes in a simple narrative, the documentary features interviews with the soldiers as they retell their version of the war and what the world looked like afterwards.
